Intersting. So if a n00b mines all day for a month in order to get some stuff and someone steals that stuff nothing happens, but if an alliance that is known for getting free bpos from corrupt devs and exploiting bugged complexes gets assets stolen then its bannage time?

The point is, theft is theft and it doesnt matter how much was stolen as the main damage done is emotional. Some poor dude mining for months in order to afford a t1 bpo will suffer just as much as an alliance that got t2 bpo's for free from devs.
If you cant see that, then there no point in arguing with you any further.

surely the size should have no bearing on it whatever the size its someones hard earned ingame isk and assets so favouring bod by banning and investigating the theft sets yet another bad precedent all such 'crimes' should be investigated and all offenders banned but no bod get preferential treatment yet again.
no its not normal a corp i was in had a corp theft and it wasnt investigated and the perp wasnt banned
